Wes Martin has enjoyed a remarkable 35-year career in the theatrical world, marked by a diverse array of experiences and contributions. It all began at the Historic Mule Barn Theatre, a prestigious Summer Stock theatre company nestled in Tarkio, MO. It was here that Wes's passion for the stage ignited, laying the foundation for what would become a lifelong journey in the performing arts.

After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performance degree from Tarkio College, Wes set his sights on Phoenix, AZ, where he discovered another gem in the form of Theater Works – a "theatre in a barn" reminiscent of his beginnings at the Mule Barn. With TW, Wes flourished, gracing the stage in over 30 productions, showcasing his talent as both an actor and a director. His dedication and leadership qualities were soon recognized, leading him to serve on the Theater Works Board of Directors from 1992 to 1997, including a stint as Vice President from 1995 to 1997.

In April 1998, Wes embarked on a new venture as the Co-Founder of The Shakespeare Theatre, a bold endeavor aimed at bringing classical and contemporary pieces to the forefront of Phoenix's theatrical landscape. Starting at the Cactus High School Auditorium and later transitioning to the esteemed Judith Hardes Theatre at the Phoenix Theatre complex, Wes left an indelible mark with his productions and directorial vision.

In 2007, Wes returned to Theater Works, which had evolved into the resident company for the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts. His expertise proved invaluable during the transition period, as he co-produced with his new company, Off-Center Productions, and directed notable productions such as "The Fantasticks" in the Mary Jane Gyder Theatre. Off-Center Productions made history with the inaugural presentation of Michael Frayn's "Copenhagen" in the Constance McMillin Black Box space, solidifying Wes's reputation as a trailblazer in the local theater scene.

Since then, Wes has continued to leave his mark as a freelance actor and director, gracing the stages of esteemed theaters such as the Arizona Theatre Company, Phoenix Theatre, and Arizona Broadway Theatre, among others. With each performance and production, his passion for the craft shines through, enriching the cultural tapestry of the communities he serves and inspiring generations of aspiring artists along the way.
